Automation and control engineering is a broad field. You have a technical/science degree in physics, electrical engineering, process/control engineering, technical IT or (technological) mathematics for example and want to transfer your knowledge, reflected in your above-average grades, to practical situations.
We expect an analytical understanding, creative approach to problem solving and a high level of commitment. In addition to excellent German and English communication skills, you can also work well independently.

For example, at our technical centers, which oversee the ongoing production at BASF's production sites. The specialist centers for automation and electrical engineering offer technological expertise and a competitive service along the entire process and production cycle, specializing in weighing, filling and packaging technology, process analysis technology, PCE field devices, and automation, electrical, communications and conveyor technology.
Or in plant construction, where electrical engineers carry out tasks such as planning the infrastructure and automation of production plants.
You can be responsible for any of the following tasks, depending upon your given role:
- operation optimization projects
- developing and implementing innovative technological solutions
- developing and maintaining measuring devices and PCE field devices
- projects in production-related communications technology
- automating laboratory activities using robotic systems
- designing and sourcing electrical machines
- automating logistics through RFID technology and automated data recording and processing
