- BASF Footwear Material APP and synthetic leather toolkit help designers make the best use of innovative BASF materials
- Enhanced possibilities for creativity, flexibility, and safety: for garments and footwear as well as furniture and automotive applications
- BASF at CHINAPLAS 2018: April 24-27 at 7.2J61, National Exhibition & Convention Center, Shanghai, China
Shanghai, China – March 28, 2018 – At CHINAPLAS 2018, BASF will unveil two new digital tools to help fashion designers in China and around the Asia Pacific region bring their inspirations to life with the latest materials. The tools, a digital footwear app and a material toolkit of synthetic leathers made without the use of organic solvents, will allow designers to select materials, access information on properties, and connect with experts.
The footwear app provides designers and material specialists with an updated and consolidated view of BASF’s material innovations for the footwear industry. It also increases accessibility, by seamlessly connecting and enabling greater interaction with BASF in-house materials experts. Designers using the footwear app will benefit from an in-app demonstration model, the latest Brooks Levitate running shoe. Made from a new blend of BASF’s Elastopan® polyurethane (PU) Sports Light material, the Brooks Levitate running shoe will be showcased at CHINAPLAS 2018.
The synthetic leather toolkit bridges the physical and digital world together for a seamless customer experience. Through an app, the toolkit enables users to envision the designs, textures and colors made possible with Haptex®, an innovative polyurethane solution from BASF. Made with no organic solvents and complying with stringent standards for volatile organic compounds (VOC), Haptex is also the material of choice for environmentally conscious designers or those who prefer not to use animal leather.
The BASF Footwear Material APP is available on iTunes now.
