  • BASF Indonesia celebrates 40th anniversary with breakfasting events in four welfare homes
  • “BASF Care to Share” program supports communities where BASF started Indonesia operations

Jakarta, Indonesia – June 14, 2016 – Celebrating 40 years of presence in Indonesia this year, employees and management of BASF Indonesia are visiting four welfare homes for breakfasting with less privileged children from June 13 – 16. The homes include Panti Asuhan Adinda, Panti Asuhan Uswatun Hasanah, Panti Asuhan Al-Mubarok and Panti Yatim Indonesia.

“Giving back and enhancing the quality of life of communities are important initiatives for BASF. To commemorate our 40th anniversary, we are bringing the annual Care to Share program back to Cengkareng, where our first manufacturing site in Indonesia is located. We want to share this celebration with the next generation in the community,” said CP Chan, President Director of BASF Indonesia.

Since starting the Care to Share program in 2012, the company has been supporting less privileged members of society annually, and encourages the spirit of giving and volunteerism among its employees in community related activities and causes. “Children and education are the key focus areas of our corporate citizenship initiatives in Indonesia. With the Idul Fitri celebration just around the corner, it is the perfect time for us to help less privileged children develop a sense of belonging that enables them to celebrate the festive season like everyone else,” added Chan.

Along with sharing the breakfasting celebration, BASF employees in Indonesia also donated money which was used to purchase gifts for the children. BASF additionally provided in-kind donations to the four homes in the form of staple food and furniture supplies to fulfill the basic needs of children.

BASF Indonesia also sponsors the BASF Kids’ Lab, Bersama BASF Kita Ke Sekolah and UNESCO Books Donation programs to support the development of the next generation in Indonesia. In its 40 years of presence in the country, BASF has also helped local industries to meet the needs of society through its high value chemical products and solutions. BASF will continue to support key Indonesia sectors, such as agriculture, construction and mining, with innovative solutions.
