BASF Japan supports children affected by Covid-19

  •  BASF donates JPY 2 million to Save the Children
  •  Employee donation campaign launched

Tokyo, Japan – June 15, 2020 – BASF Japan Ltd. will donate JPY 2 million to Save the Children Japan, to support children affected by the COVID-19 outbreak in Japan. The donation will support  after-school programs (Gakudo) and children from single-parent families facing financial difficulties. Additionally, the company will launch a donation campaign among BASF employees in Japan. 

Hiroki Ishida, Representative Director and President of BASF Japan, said: “We offer our deepest sympathy for those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones. We hope our donation activities will help minimize the impact on children and put smiles onto their faces again.”   
BASF is committed to fighting the pandemic worldwide with a total of approximately €100 million. As part of its “Helping Hands” campaign, BASF donated over 100 million protective masks to the Federal Republic of Germany. In addition, as a special measure, BASF also started producing hand sanitizer in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Turkey and the United States in order to donate them to fight the virus.
