BASF Korea contributes 200,000 EUR to Ewha Womans University’s Ewha Future Strategy Fund

 

Seoul, Korea, March 18, 2020 – BASF Korea has contributed a total of 200,000 EUR (approx. 260 million KRW) to the Ewha Future Strategy Fund for supporting women’s education for future women leaders. The donation ceremony took place in Ewha Womans University’s Pfeiffer Hall on March 16.

“We are grateful to BASF, a global company, for this meaningful contribution” said Heisook Kim, President of Ewha Womans University. “We look forward to working together in areas such as chemicals and medicine, fostering a creative and productive relationship between Ewha Womans University and BASF.”

“BASF Korea is continuously searching for opportunities to exchange and cooperate with academia, and we are thrilled to be able to form this valuable relationship with Ewha Womans University,” said Young-Yull Kim, Representative Director of BASF Korea. “BASF is working towards increasing the proportion of women in leadership positions to 30% worldwide by 2030, as part of the company’s efforts for growth and social value creation. We look forward to working with great women as we strive to reach this goal.”

Representative Director of BASF Korea, Young-Yull Kim and employees from BASF Korea participated in the donation ceremony, along with Ewha Womans University President Heisook Kim, Executive Vice President of External Affairs Dae Seok Choi, Vice President of the Office of University Relations and Development Yoomi Choi, Vice President of the Office of University Planning and Coordination Sae Kyung Yu, and previous Vice President for University Planning and Coordination Hyung-Suk Choi.

In recognition of BASF Korea’s contributions, BASF’s name will be inscribed on the Ewha Donors Wall and a commemorative board will be added to the SW Tutoring Lounge at the university.
