Chinaplas 2015: BASF brings 1865 concept bike to China for first time

Guangzhou, China / Taipei, Taiwan – May 13, 2015 – How would the first pedal cycle have looked like if it had been built with today’s advanced materials? At “Design x Innovation” at Chinaplas 2015, BASF is bringing to China the first time its 1865 concept bike, which was designed to rebuild the 19th century bike as a modern bike to answer that question.

Jointly developed by DING3000 design studio and BASF’s designfabrik, the concept bike – which makes use of 24 different BASF materials – is a source of inspiration and innovation. The collaboration demonstrates our commitment to co-creation. Customers and designers are invited to collaborate with the company in developing new applications and product ideas utilizing advanced plastics.
