- Ranked fifth among multinational companies
- Recognized for outstanding human resources development and social involvement
Taipei, Taiwan – August 25, 2015 – BASF has been given the title of “Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility” in Taiwan for the third consecutive year by CommonWealth Magazine. Ranking fifth in the category of multinational companies, BASF was recognized for its exceptional human resources development programs as well as social involvement.
“We are honored to be named one of the top corporate citizens again. At BASF, we create chemistry – and have been doing so for 150 years. In Taiwan, we create chemistry that can help tackle the challenges in the local communities and engage employees and customers to do the right thing for a more sustainable future,” said Engleong Goh, managing director of BASF Taiwan.
Continuous employee development is an essential part of BASF’s strategy to form the best team. BASF offers many learning opportunities, including job rotation, cross-unit and cross-border assignments to help its employees’ progress personally and professionally. In addition, BASF is committed to industrial safety and environmental protection and plays an influential role in the industry by sharing experience in implementing safety practices.
BASF’s commitment to science education through kids’ lab, employee involvement in volunteer activities and supporting Kindgarden, a social welfare organization, have all been cited for BASF’s leadership in community involvement. Since last year, BASF Taiwan has supported the building expansion project of Kindgarden, which is located near the Kuanyin site that provides care for people with intellectual disabilities. By leveraging the expertise in chemical materials and connections in the industry, BASF employees have engaged customers to build new facilities with green materials for Kindgarden to accommodate more people in need.
