Statement
We are aware that our ex-employees in Taiwan were indicted on charges of breach of Trade Secrets Act by Taiwan Taoyuan District Prosecutors Office today. We take this matter very seriously and have been actively supporting the investigation and prosecution led by local law enforcement officials and protecting the relevant information as well as filed a criminal complaint. At BASF, to protect our Intellectual Property and business secrets, we do not tolerate such kind of non-compliant activities.
BASF is committed to investing in, and protecting, Intellectual Property resulting from research and development as well as production know-how both by BASF and our customers. To this end, we have established systems and policies which minimize risks and continuously have internal training for the employees.
BASF encourages our employees to actively and promptly seek guidance on compliance issues if in doubt. For this, employees can consult not only their managers, but also dedicated specialist departments and company compliance officers, as well as the company’s anonymous external hotlines.
