Product Responsibility

We continuously work to ensure that our products pose no risk to people and the environment when used responsibly and in the manner intended. With our commitment to Product Stewardship as part of the Responsible Care Initiative, the Global Product Strategy and other initiatives of the International Council of Chemical Associations (ICCA), we are dedicated to continuously minimizing the negative influences of our products on safety, health and environment along the value chain – from development to disposal.

PFAS
BASF is committed to safe and sustainable products and supports balanced regulatory measures for PFAS. PFAS are a diverse class of chemicals and there is no globally uniform regulatory definition of PFAS. Taking the scope of the EU PFAS restriction proposal as reference, BASF has a limited number of products that contain substances belonging to the PFAS class. These products have been developed to meet market needs and regulatory compliance requirements.

Audits
Acting responsibly according to the guidelines of Responsible Care is a long-term investment for BASF to continuously improve our environmental, health and safety performance and to monitor this progress. Regular environmental, health and safety audits at all of our sites worldwide help us to accomplish this objective.
