Cimegra® marks three years of supporting Indonesian shallot farmers with proven pest management performance

  • Postive market feedback from farmers about Cimegra’s ability to support improved crop productivity by minimizing damage from major pests

  • BASF celebrates three years of Cimegra with 1,000 shallot farmers in Brebes, Central Java

Brebes, September 28, 2026 – BASF Agricultural Solutions is celebrating three years of Cimegra® in Indonesia, highlighting the product’s continued role in helping shallot farmers manage key insect pests and protect crop productivity.

Since its launch in 2023, Cimegra has supported farmers in managing some of the most significant insect pest challenges in shallot production, including Thrips, Spodoptera, and Plutella. Over multiple growing seasons, the product has demonstrated consistent performance in helping farmers protect crops from pest damage and maintain productivity.

Shallots are an important crop for Indonesian farmers, where pest pressure can have a significant impact on crop quality and yield. “Effective and reliable insect management remains critical for successful shallot production,” said Jerico Gascon, Local Business Management, BASF Agricultural Solutions Indonesia.

Among its key benefits, Cimegra offers its “3.5 hours to completion” proposition, with target caterpillars stopping feeding within 3.5 hours after application*, helping to minimize crop damage and support crop productivity.

To mark the milestone, BASF hosted ‘Gebyar Cimegra Secepat Kilat’ in Brebes, Central Java, bringing together approximately 1,000 shallot farmers. The event provided an opportunity for farmers to observe product performance under field conditions, exchange experiences, and learn more about insect pest management and best application practices.

“Farmer success starts with understanding local challenges and providing solutions that deliver value in the field,” Gascon added. “Beyond innovative products, BASF is committed to supporting farmers through technical expertise, knowledge sharing and close engagement with farming communities across Indonesia.”

In addition to shallots, Cimegra is registered for use on a range of important crops, including corn, tomato, cabbage, and soybean, helping farmers manage significant insect pests across different farming systems.
