BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd

BASF’s history in Malaysia began with the establishment of BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in 1989, with the initial goal of marketing BASF’s products in the country. Since then, BASF has been expanding its presence through the setting up of production sites, acquisition of businesses and forming joint-venture partnership with local companies.
BASF first started its operations in Malaysia in 1989, with the aim to capture the business opportunities arising from the country’s central location at the heart of Southeast Asia. To better serve the growing market in the region, the company set up its first manufacturing plant in 1992, and continued to establish manufacturing facilities that produce different products across the country. Today, it operates manufacturing plants located in Bukit Jelutong and Bukit Raja, Selangor and Pasir Gudang, Johor, as well as an operational site in Kulim, Kedah.
Since its establishment, BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has been expanding its presence in the country through acquisition of businesses from various industries including Degussa Construction Chemicals Malaysia, Cognis (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd and Ciba. It also formed joint venture companies with with PETRONAS and Toray Industries Inc., Japan.
For more than 25 years, BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd has been producing solutions to meet the needs of customers focusing on the agriculture, oil & gas, construction, automotive, paint & coatings, home & personal care, packaging & food and nutrition industries.
