In June, BASF announced the launch of its Colors & Effects brand, bundling BASF’s global pigments business. The Colors & Effects brand encompasses BASF’s broad portfolio of colorants and effect pigments. Based on their chemical expertise in the coatings, plastics, printing, cosmetics and agriculture markets, BASF’s experts offer consultative solutions. Lumina® Royal Dragon Gold EH 0908

The Lumina® Royal series is part of BASF’s broad portfolio of high-quality pigments for plastics. This enables producers of plastics all over the world to create attractive design options. The new Lumina® Royal Dragon Gold EH 0908 is a highly chromatic green gold interference mica pigment that offers the highest lightness and strongest sparkle in styling for golds and greens. It extends the color space potential of high chroma shades to produce eye-catching articles for sport and leisure and casings for electronic devices and household appliances. Other fields of application are children’s toys and elegantly designed packaging for cosmetic products.

Polymer-soluble colorants for plastics

BASF manufactures a comprehensive range of polymer-soluble colorants. All are individually designed to meet the specific requirements of the plastics industry. BASF offers these colorants under the trade name: Oracet®, polymer-soluble colorants for plastics, and Lumogen® F, highly stable polymer-soluble colorants for plastics.

Oracet®
High-purity solvent dyes with only a very small proportion of insoluble constituents, for the mass coloration of thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics, e. g.,styrene polymers (PS, SB, SAN, ABS), PVC-U, polymethyl methacrylate, cellulose derivatives, polycarbonate and unsaturated polyester.

Lumogen® F
High-purity, brilliant fluorescent dyes with very high heat and light stability.

BASF Paliotol® yellow pigments

BASF offers a broad portfolio of products for the mass coloration of plastics with its various organic and inorganic pigments and dye stuffs. During packaging they can be used both for coloring packaging film as well as injection molded transport boxes or caps and closures. Part of the portfolio are, amongst others, Paliotol® organic yellow pigments. Paliotol® is our trademark for a series of high performance organic yellow pigments with various shades. These pigments offer an array of brilliant shades of yellow: from a greenish to a reddish shade. Outstanding characteristics of the product line are good fastness and color strength properties. Paliotol® pigments allow low-warping colorations of plastics and offer a constant quality.
