New Consumer Electronics Toolkit by BASF with collection of watch straps and mobile phone protective cases
- Trendy designs in collection created with advanced technology and Elastollan® TPU
- Mixed reality devices enable immersive experience, as well as more agile and efficient remote collaborations
Singapore – October 27, 2021 – BASF has introduced a new Consumer Electronics toolkit with collections of wearables and mobile phone protective cases made with Elastollan® Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU).
“At BASF, we drive innovation with leading-edge technologies and high-performance material solutions. Since the launch of Elastollan (TPU) Soft Touch, we continue to push the boundaries of our offering for consumer electronics (CE) brands. The latest wearables and protective case collection reflect our ongoing commitment to innovation for the CE market,” said Minli Zhao, Vice President, BASF Performance Materials Consumer Industry.
Mobile phone cases made with Elastollan combine performance with classic designs
The collection of mobile phone protective cases features six classic designs made with Elastollan. Hence, it possesses exceptional defense against scratch, UV, discoloration, good transparency, and easy coloring.
Wearables made with Elastollan enable fashion-forward protection
The watch strap collection combines sophisticated style with protection against everyday wear and tear. Created in partnership with Meiban and their IMS innovative tooling technology, the collection of textured straps made with Elastollan provides a soft touch feeling and excellent mechanical properties, including abrasion and UV resistance. As Elastollan enables easy coloring, it is available in six fashion-forward colors, which provides versatility for use on any occasion.
Empowering visual and physical design experiences
By using mixed reality devices, users can instantly visualize interactive 3D constructs for a richer and more immersive experience. The advanced technology also enables remote collaboration and streamlined creative workflows of ideas and concepts.
“Embracing new technologies such as mixed reality allows us to blend both physical and digital worlds, and results in increased agility and efficiency in communication for faster support to customers,” said Minli.
