BASF opens new plant in the Philippines to supply construction chemicals for local market

  • New plant to produce Master Builders Solutions® for Philippines’ growing construction market

Mannheim, Germany/Manila, Philippines – December 7, 2016 – BASF inaugurated its new production plant at Carmona, Cavite, Philippines. This new facility will produce standard and custom-made performance-based concrete admixtures under the Master Builders Solutions® brand, including product ranges such as MasterGlenium®, MasterPolyheed®, MasterRheobuild®, MasterPozzolith® and MasterCem®. This allows BASF to better meet the increasing demand of construction chemicals customers in the Philippines.

“The outlook for the construction industry in the Philippines is positive and expected to grow in the next four years, driven largely by the residential and infrastructure markets. The new Carmona plant enhances our flexibility to serve our customers with a timely supply and shorter lead times,” said Mr. Christian Mombaur, Senior Vice President, Construction Chemicals Asia Pacific, BASF. “As the trend toward rapid urbanization and industrialization continues in the Philippines, our new Carmona plant will enable us to stay closer to our customers and offer solutions in specialized construction chemicals for long-lasting infrastructures and buildings.”

Located at the Golden Mile Business Park in Cavite, the newly constructed plant is well equipped with production units, warehousing facilities, technical laboratories for concrete and cement as well as product quality control. Concrete admixtures produced in the new plant as well as other BASF’s construction chemicals imported and stocked will greatly benefit the users and their construction projects in Greater Manila Area and nearby Luzon provinces.

Mr. Roy T. Comagon, Managing Director of BASF Philippines, Inc. said, “The opening of our new production facility in the country underlines our commitment and long-term focus in serving our customers and providing them with durable and energy-efficient products.  This is another milestone for us as we support the rapid growth of the construction market in the Philippines.”
