Diversity + Inclusion
Differences make us successful
We believe that diversity and inclusion make the difference. Only when people with diverse backgrounds come together, contribute their various experiences and attitudes, and look at challenges from different perspectives, creative innovations and groundbreaking solutions are created. The connectedness and collaboration of our teams are our strength: We call it "The power of connected minds"!
We celebrate diversity in every form: Diversity, inclusion and equity are essential to our actions and corporate culture. As an employer, we actively promote a diverse and inclusive (work) environment and empower our employees to thrive and get involved.
How we promote diversity
We support many employee networks around the world that advocate for equal opportunities and tolerance.

The world cannot be changed alone. For this reason, BASF is involved in various regional and international networks as well as (partner) organizations, initiatives, and associations.
As a founding member of the PrOUT@work foundation, we support the matters of the LGBTIQ* community. We are also one of the founding members of Charta der Vielfalt, where we support all dimensions of diversity in Germany.
BASF has been recognized as a Global Compact LEAD company for our commitment to the UN Global Compact (UNGC). By actively supporting the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs), we promote gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workplace, on the labor market and in society.
We also support the United Nations' global LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans and Intersex) Code of Conduct. In the OECD's global Business for Inclusive Growth Initiative, BASF is promoting equitable, sustainable, and inclusive growth together with other companies.
In North America, BASF is involved in various partnerships and programs. For example, we offer a diversity program for suppliers. In Brazil, BASF works closely with various institutions to strengthen respect for human rights. In Australia, BASF actively participates in the Champions of Change Coalition to achieve gender equality and is also a member of the Diversity Council Australia, an independent, non-profit organization that promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
