BASF och den svenska förpackningsmaterialstillverkaren BillerudKorsnäs har utvecklat en unik ny typ av emballage som är organiskt återvinningsbar och komposterbar. Emballaget kan användas för bland annat livsmedelsprodukter.
Som första kemiföretag i världen erbjuder BASF transparenta utsläppsdata för hela portföljen på cirka 45 000 produkter. Data från BASF Verbund och en ny digital app hjälper BASF:s kunder att bättre mäta och minska sitt eget CO2-avtryck för sina aktiviteter och slutprodukter.
Nu kan plastfolie komposteras. Tack vare BASF:s nyutvecklade material kommer CO2-utsläppen reduceras samtidigt som matens hållbarhetstid förlängs och matsvinnet minskar.
BASF has reached an agreement to sell its manufacturing site in Kankakee, Illinois and the associated businesses of vegetable-oil-based raw material sterols and natural vitamin E, anionic surfactants and esters produced there to an affiliate of One Rock Capital Partners, LLC, a U.S.-based private equity firm. The businesses have around 160 employees including business management and commercial personnel across the U.S. The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2021, subject to the approval of the relevant authorities. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Ludwigshafen, Germany – December 17, 2020 – The Supervisory Board of BASF SE today appointed Dr. Melanie Maas-Brunner (52) as a member of the Board of Executive Directors effective February 1, 2021. Maas-Brunner has been with BASF since 1997 and has headed BASF’s Nutrition & Health division since 2017. In her new role as of February 1, 2021, she will also take over the position as Chief Technology Officer from Dr. Martin Brudermüller, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF. She will assume responsibility for the three research divisions Advanced Materials & Systems Research, Bioscience Research, Process Research & Chemical Engineering as well as BASF New Business at that time.
