Hiring Process

Please be advised of a scam currently circulating on various social media platforms, especially Telegram, that features someone impersonating a BASF hiring agent. The person makes an unsolicited job offer for a position in exchange for money to purchase work assets. BASF will never ask for anything in exchange for a job offer. All legitimate job postings at BASF can be found and applied to through our global  Jobs Portal.

At BASF, we are focused on forming the best team. We seek candidates that closely match the position’s requirements and who display an innovative skillset.  Our application process reflects this mindset.

Our Human Resources team is tasked with reviewing all submitted applications. If your experience and salary requirements match our needs, your application will then go to the hiring manager. We invite you to connect with members of our Recruiting team on LinkedIn, and we encourage you to stay connected.

At this point, the team shares qualified candidate applications with the hiring manager and you may be requested to participate in a phone or video interview. Once all qualified candidates have been screened, a member of the Recruiting team will discuss with the hiring manager who will then be invited to an in-person interview.

Interviews are conducted after all initial screenings have been completed. We strive to make the interview process as efficient as possible.

You may be invited to individual or panel interviews. BASF conducts behavior-based interviews, so be prepared to discuss how your past experiences have shaped your qualifications for the position.

Once all interviews have taken place, the hiring team will make a final decision and an offer will be extended. Information regarding BASF's competitive compensation and benefits will be shared with you, and you will have the opportunity to ask us questions to clarify anything that may be unclear.

Almost there! Once you have accepted our offer, we will begin the process of conducting required background and reference checks. This process could take some time, especially if you have lived and/or worked in different states or countries, so we ask for your patience during this part of the process.

Once you are notified by our hiring team that you are cleared for employment at BASF, you are then advised to inform your current employer that you will be leaving.

Congratulations! You're officially a member of the BASF team, and we're happy to have you on board. Once you are cleared for employment, a member of our team will confirm your start date. After you begin, you will attend new hire orientation and will begin what we know will be a successful and rewarding career with BASF!
