Jonathan Harper

Jonathan Harper is Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of BASF Corporation, a role he assumed on May 1, 2026. In this role, Jon also serves as Chair of the company’s Compliance Oversight Committee.

Harper joined BASF in 2005 and most recently served as Vice President & Deputy General Counsel for the Compliance, Litigation, Employment & Privacy team in North America. In that role, Jon served as the Head of Litigation and Compliance for North America. From 2016 to 2018, Jon served as staff to BASF SE’s Chief Compliance Officer, and was based in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

Prior to joining BASF, Harper was Counsel at Pitney Hardin LLP (now Day Pitney LLP) specializing in litigation, investigations, and employment and labor law.

Born in New Jersey, Jon earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Ethics from Middlebury College where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He also holds a Juris Doctorate Degree from New York University School of Law.
