Matthew Leiter

Matthew Leiter is Vice President & CFO of BASF Corporation, a role he assumed on August 1, 2025. In this position, Matt is responsible for BASF’s finance and tax units in the United States.

Leiter joined BASF in 2013 and most recently served as Director, Accounting & Reporting for the U.S. and Canada within the division Global Business Services. Prior to that, he was a member of BASF’s Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions and U.S. tax teams. Before joining BASF, Matt was an associate at a national public accounting firm.

Born in New Jersey, Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Montclair State University and a Master of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
