BASF’s presence in the greater Houston area is diverse.  

With locations across the city, Houston is the regional headquarters to our Petrochemical business, Engineering and Technical Expertise, and the global headquarters for Global Oilfield Solutions. We also support many other BASF businesses in research, manufacturing and production. In total, the sites employ more than 500 employees with new opportunities posted often.

Petrochemicals

The Petrochemicals business is the cornerstone of BASF’s petrochemical-based value chains throughout the region. We manufacture and market a broad portfolio of cracker products, industrial gases, alkylene oxides, glycols, solvents, plasticizers and acrylates.

Headquartered in downtown Houston, the Petrochemicals business has a large presence in Texas with manufacturing facilities in Pasadena, Port Arthur and Freeport. We provide intelligent solutions for the raw material requirements of our customers. We are a responsible, reliable and trustworthy partner, and we have a dedicated, creative and global team.

Global Oilfield Solutions

BASF’s Global Oilfield Solutions provides a broad range of high quality chemicals to help you meet the technical challenges in drilling, cementing, stimulation and production. With innovative and high-quality chemical solutions, we can help meet the changing needs of the industry for greater efficiency and productivity. With a state-of-the-art laboratory in Houston, we partner with our customers to discover the perfect solution for every challenge.

Engineering and Technical Expertise

The Engineering & Technical Expertise organization within BASF provides functional leadership and expertise for engineering services in North America. Headquartered in Houston, our focus is to partner with the BASF sites and operating divisions to develop customized solutions tailored to the individual need of each business model.

Community Relations

BASF team members and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) collaborate each year in various events throughout the community that support STEM education, sustainability, and diversity and inclusion. We have a long standing partnership with the Children’s Museum of Houston, University of Texas at Austin for their Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day event, and the Consumer Energy Education Foundation (CEEF) for their annual Energy Day festival.
