We are BASF’s North American Biotechnology Innovation Center with an end-to-end capability platform offering product development and research services to both BASF and external partners and customers. Our digital and wet-lab R&D platform includes all steps of product development from gene discovery to large scale production of industrial enzymes, biobased chemicals and biocatalysts.

We are an integrated unit in San Diego, which combines R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Intellectual Property, Quality Management, Scouting, and Business Management. The units are either part of BASF Research, Care Chemicals, Nutrition and Health, Global Digital, or in the case of IP-Management belong to other competence centers.
