BASF inaugurates new Catalyst Development and Solids Processing Center in Ludwigshafen
BASF officially opened its new Catalyst Development and Solids Processing Center in Ludwigshafen, Germany, on December 12, 2024. This research facility will serve as a hub for pilot-scale synthesis of chemical catalysts, enabling BASF to offer its global customers faster access to innovative technologies. This pilot plant will also be of central importance for the development of new solids processing technologies.
BASF and INOCAS sign agreement to develop sustainable Macaúba oil supply in Brazil
December 10, 2024 – BASF and INOCAS S.A. (Innovative Oil and Carbon Solutions) signed a long-term Supplier Finance Agreement, including offtake of Macaúba Kernel Oil and Macaúba Pulp Oil, an R&D project and options to acquire equity shares in INOCAS in future. The partnership includes financing of INOCAS’ plans to significantly expand the Macaúba oil production in Brazil on an industrial scale.
BASF starts up its expanded ammonium chloride plant in Ludwigshafen
BASF has expanded the production of ammonium chloride at its Ludwigshafen site, increasing capacity by 50% and improving product quality. Following the successful start-up of the plant, a more efficient production process is now being used to meet the growing demand for high-quality ammonium chloride.

With this, trinamiX paves the way for greater safety and comfort in everyday life. Visitors to CES can experience how mobile devices can make previously "invisible" health indicators visible and how sensors behind vehicle displays enhance passenger safety at booth #56426 in the Venetian Expo Hall.

BASF Coatings, a leading partner for innovative surface solutions, and Koch International, an international logistics service provider based in Osnabrück, have successfully tested the use of electric trucks for long distances and have now implemented this sustainable transport solution for BASF Coatings in long-distance transport. The efforts are part of the chemical company's comprehensive sustainability approach to focus on innovative solutions for a sustainable future along the entire value chain.
