BASF and Evonik agree on first deliveries of biomass-balanced ammonia with reduced carbon footprint
BASF and its customer Evonik have agreed on the first delivery of BASF’s ammonia BMBcertTM grade. Thereby, both chemical companies demonstrate their commitment to offer products with a reduced product carbon footprint (PCF). With its ammonia BMBcert, BASF delivers to Evonik a product whose PCF is at least 65 % lower than the standard product.

BASF brings innovations in scientific research and digital tools for sustainability to the IFSCC Congress

At this year's 47th WorldSkills Competition held in Lyon, France, more than 1,400 competitors from around 70 countries and regions took part in the event. Recyclability of polyamides extended in the 2024 minimum standard for packaging
On 29 August 2024, the Zentrale Stelle Verpackungsregister (Central Agency Packaging Register – ZSVR) published the new minimum standard for recycling-friendly packaging. It now also recognizes barrier films that include not only polyethylene (PE) and polyamide (PA) but also ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) for high oxygen barrier as recyclable. These film structures are commonly used for sausage, cheese and meat packaging. For the first time, adhesive-laminated PE/PA film structures are now also recognized as recyclable in the minimum standard
