Value to Society Results

BASF has developed a new method with external experts to perform the first monetary assessment of the economic, ecological, and social impacts of its business activities along the value chain: the “Value to Society” approach.

We want to measure the value proposition of our actions along the entire value chain, aware that our business activities are connected to both positive and negative impacts on the environment and society.

Value Balancing Alliance

BASF is a founding member of the Value Balancing Alliance, which aims to change the way companies report on their performance by introducing a global measurement that integrates sustainability into financial reporting. The result: a more holistic view of corporate activity – one that combines financial performance and contribution to society.

Together with Value Balancing Alliance, BASF Canada is leading the discussion with financial institutions, pension funds, and major asset owners in Canada to explore the potential of establishing a Canadian chapter of the Value Balancing Alliance.
