At BASF, we strongly committed to continuously minimizing the negative effects of our products on the environment, health, and safety while optimizing the performances. This commitment is enshrined in our Responsible Care® charter. We ensure our products will not pose any risks to humans or the environment when being used in responsible and intended manners.

Our sites and Group companies implement internal guidelines and comply with all relevant national and international laws to ensure the uniformly high standards of product safety worldwide. And the Environmental Protection, Health, Safety and Quality unit in the Corporate Center conducts regular audits to guarantee the high standards of product stewardship. We have our products undergone various tests and assessments to identify the potential hazardous characteristics or risks on health and environment before launching them on the market or even at an earlier stage. This is to ensure that necessary measures and recommendations to be put in place at every stage of product life cycle. We  provide people who purchase, sell, use, transport or dispose our products with easy access to information and related risks of our products via the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), which is used to classify and label our products worldwide. All the relevant information is managed via a global database.

In recent years, different regional and national chemical regulations have been evolving. Our collaborations and exchanges with local authorities provide opportunities to share our expertise and constructive suggestions for regulation development and implementation in China.
