SOUTHFIELD, MI March 18, 2013 – BASF’s Automotive Refinish Coatings business will be joined by Chip Foose, renowned automotive designer, on Saturday, March 23 at the Megaspeed Custom Car and Truck Show at the International Center in Toronto.
No stranger to BASF automotive refinish paint, Chip Foose grew up watching his dad spray BASF’s paint. “I knew about the brand from watching my dad refinish cars while I was growing up,” said Foose.
In 1998, Chip opened Foose Design in Huntington Beach, California, where he builds custom cars for private and commercial clientele.
“Chip Foose is a great friend of BASF and is a fan of our automotive refinish paints,” said Vitor Margaronis, Marketing Director for BASF Coatings in North America. “We are very proud of our relationship with Chip and the 24 custom colors he designed for us.”
“Once I started spraying BASF’s Glasurit brand, I understood immediately what the detailers were talking about. For years, BASF paint has helped take my projects to the Ridler Awards, to SEMA, to the cover of magazines and to TV with Overhaulin’,“ said Foose.
In addition, the BASF booth will feature a 1968 Pro Touring Camaro RS SS Coupe owned by Rick Nash, NHL star from the New York Rangers; a 1959 Impala Convertible built by Boot Hill Auto in Erin, Ontario; a 1935 Ford 3-window built by John St. Germain and a 2012 Porsche GT3 Cup Car, driven by Jeff Pabst.
Megaspeed is the largest indoor custom car and truck show in Canada and runs from March 22 -24.
