BASF receives notice of EPA approval for Engenia herbicide

BASF received notice from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of federal registration for Engenia® herbicide for over the top (OTT) applications on dicamba-tolerant soybeans and cotton. This new registration enables American soybean and cotton farmers with an additional tool to battle weeds that are increasingly resistant to other herbicides.

BASF Chattanooga is now accepting applications for the 2026 TECH Academy

BASF’s Chattanooga site, in partnership with Chattanooga State Community College, will host its annual TECH Academy program, which introduces high school students to technical and craft careers through skills classes, workshops, and industry tours. Beginning the week of June 8, participating students will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM)-related career fields through hands-on learning with industry professionals.

BASF introduces new Stoneville cotton seed varieties for the 2026 season

BASF is further expanding its industry-leading seed portfolio with the addition of three new Stoneville® cotton varieties for the 2026 growing season. All new varieties for 2026 include Axant® Flex technology, cotton’s first and only quad-stacked herbicide trait*, and three-gene insect control with the TwinLink® Plus trait.

BASF enters long-term agreement to secure renewable energy certificates, supporting Scope 2 emissions reduction at U.S. sites

BASF has signed a 15-year agreement with BP Energy Retail Company to acquire Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). These certificates are linked to approximately 47 megawatts (MW) of annual capacity from Swift Current Energy’s Castle Gap Wind project in Central Texas. By securing RECs, BASF can offset carbon-intensive, grid-supplied electricity attributed to multiple U.S. locations, helping to reduce emissions in its value chain.
