NEO CEE plug

BASF has a long and huge experience in materials for plugs and other applications for the E/E market. For our new project, together with our customer Walther Werke – the NEO CEE plug - this experience and broad portfolio was asked. The material testing in our certified labs lead us to an unreinforced Ultramid^® B3S R03 for the housing., fulfilling all the electrical requirements for e.g. UV resistance (f1 listing on the Yellow Card). This Ultramid^® B allows a complete change in the design of the CEE plug.

Features of Ultramid^® B3S R03:

·         Fulfills requirements according UL94 V-2 at 0,75 mm

·         RTI Elec of 130 °C

·         High toughness

·         UL f1 listing

For the inner parts of the plug flame retardant products are required according to UL94 V-0, especially for the contact clip which works without any help of tools. On top, the product needs to offer high mechanical resistance and easy coloring. Our Ultramid^® A3UG5 with its’ ALL color listings at BASF Color Solutions GmbH is the answer. Using this Ultramid^® A3UG5 Walther Werke is able to produce different colors even in smaller amounts.
