With BASF Ultramid^® B3K, BOOXit Transport Boxes Meet the Demanding Requirements of Reusable Packaging Logistics

With Ultramid^® B3K BK00464 from BASF, the BOOXit transport box relies on a high-performance polyamide 6 designed for demanding logistics applications. The easy-flow material combines high strength, durability and efficient injection molding processing, characteristics that are particularly valuable for reusable transport boxes for use in parcel, healthcare, and industrial logistics. In the BOOXit box, the material is utilized in a digitally integrable, automation-ready reusable system designed to replace conventional single-use cardboard packaging and heavy metal transport containers.

The BOOXit box has been designed as a modular system. It can be used with or without a lid, loaded from both the front and the top, features a patented locking mechanism, and is based on the standard 120 × 80 cm pallet footprint.

Ultramid^® B3K as the Basis for Robust Logistics Solutions

Transport boxes for industrial and military applications must meet especially stringent requirements. They must withstand mechanical stress, offer long service life, be stackable, and perform reliably even under challenging environmental conditions.

This is precisely where Ultramid^® B3K demonstrates its strengths. The material is an easy-flow, stabilized and fast-processing injection molding grade based on PA6. Its combination of excellent processability and balanced mechanical properties makes it particularly suitable for large technical components.

In addition to material performance, the BOOXit box also relies on intelligent design features. The CLICKit stacking system enables interlocked stacking, including at 90° angles for load securing purposes. Furthermore, boxes of different sizes can be stacked on top of one another.

Intelligent Reusable Logistics by Design

The BOOXit box combines reusability with smart logistics. Moisture protection, continuous tracking, NFC-based identification, ERP integration and automation compatibility provide the foundation for efficient circular logistics systems. With a lifetime exceeding 100 transport cycles and 100% recyclability, the box also meets demanding requirements for sustainability and resource efficiency.

The reusable concept delivers advantages in both sustainability and cost efficiency. By replacing single-use cardboard packaging and enabling repeated use, the BOOXit box can significantly reduce resource consumption, waste generation and CO₂ emissions. At the same time, its long service life and efficient return logistics lower total lifecycle costs.

Looking ahead, robust, stackable and digitally connected reusable transport boxes also open new opportunities in professional medical and pharmaceutical logistics. Potential applications include packaging solutions for temperature-controlled transport of sensitive medical products, diagnostic materials and pharmaceutical supply chains.

The BOOXit box is manufactured by POLYTEC GROUP, a plastics specialist with extensive expertise in producing large injection-molded components. The combination of material know-how and reliable large-part manufacturing processes forms the basis for the box’s high robustness and quality.

Premiere at Fakuma 2026

The BOOXit transport box will be showcased for the first time at the BASF booth (B4-4303) during Fakuma 2026. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the innovative reusable logistics solution firsthand and engage with experts to discuss material properties, application areas and the benefits of intelligent reusable transport systems.
