BASF Coatings is strengthening its role in robotics-enabled Automotive Refinish by combining coatings expertise, digital color management and application process know-how. Through close collaboration with OEMs and automation partners, the company aims to help shape the future of automated paint application in body shops.

BASF Coatings has won the Sustainability Award in Automotive 2026 for its Overspray Free Application (OFLA) process, an overspray-free approach to two-tone painting. The award was presented in the ‘Technology: Operations & Supply Chain’ category, which honors tangible technological and process innovations that make a measurable contribution to sustainability by improving industrial operations and production processes.

Haryono Lim, President, Mega Projects Asia, Zhanjiang, will assume responsibility as President and Chairman for BASF Greater China, Shanghai, effective July 1, 2026. The current head of the division, Dr. Jeffrey Jianfeng Lou, will leave the company.

The electrical engineering company Weidmüller, Germany uses Ultramid^® Advanced N3U41 G6 for the PCB connectors and terminals of its new OMNIMATE^® 4.0 product family. The BASF polyphthalamide (PPA) is characterized by its flexible colorability in RAL colors such as color stable orange, blue, and green, thus contributing to the safe assembly and maintenance of E&E components. Thanks to its outstanding chemical resistance, dimensional stability, and very good processability, Ultramid^® Advanced N improves the robustness and durability of OMNIMATE^® 4.0 components.

BASF and PQ have signed an agreement for the sale of BASF’s silicates business, including assets at the Düsseldorf/Holthausen site to PQ. Subject to customary closing conditions such as regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to be completed in H2 2026.
