From August 7 to October 8, BASF will showcase a series of applications and innovations that help improve people’s health and safety as well as daily life through a walkway curated by BASF and the Xuhui District. The creative displays will cover various topics, including food and packaging, nutrition and health, personal care, and lifestyle.

“The Shanghai government and the Xuhui district are making constant efforts to improve quality of life, empowered by science and technology. That is why we partner with BASF, one of the world’s leading chemical companies, to present science education at Hengshan Lane this summer,” said Zhang Ning, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Commission of Xuhui District.

In celebration of the National Science and Technology Week and the National Science Popularization Day, the exhibition will hold several activities in three phases under the theme of “Smart Science, Better Life”.

Phase I (August 7 to 31) – “Enlighten the basics” will explore the world of science in daily life

Phase II (September 1 to 27) – “Reconnect with health” aims to promote public awareness of health topics

Phase III (September 27 to October 8) – “Chemistry connects city and people” will explore what makes a great city – 135 reasons to enjoy Shanghai.
