BASF supports Indonesia in its fight against COVID-19
- Donation of essential medical equipment to support healthcare infrastructure
Jakarta, September 7, 2021 – BASF has extended its support to the Indonesian government through donations and relief initiatives, to help overcome the coronavirus pandemic. To back the government’s effort in accelerating management of COVID-19, BASF donated medical equipment to hospitals and healthcare facilities in the country.
BASF Indonesia’s aid for medical infrastructure includes:
- 20 oxygen cylinders, 20 oxygen regulators and 150 oximeters to Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory Hospital in Jakarta.
- 31 oxygen cylinders to the Health Crisis Center of the National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) through CropLife.
- Handed over 30 oxygen concentrators to the Ministry of Health, for further distribution to health facilities in the country.
- Our Cimanggis site provided 100 self-isolation packages to communities in Depok.

Efficient operation of key infrastructure is critical to COVID-19 emergency response for public health, safety and public welfare, and the chemical industry in Indonesia continues to operate during the pandemic, to safeguard uninterrupted production of basic necessities. BASF provides essential raw materials which go into cleaning and disinfecting products, agricultural solutions, food, and support automotive, transportation, energy, and other industries.
In 2020, BASF Indonesia donated medical masks and soaps to institutions and health workers around its production sites and provided handwashing facilities across several locations in the country.
