BASF registers MURI record with 1000 Indonesian farmers performing in an Angklung performance as part of its new BASF Cimegra® insecticides launch event
- BASF celebrates with farmers the launch of its latest insecticide innovation Cimegra® with a series of events with latest being a MURI world record in Brebes, Java.
- BASF Cimegra® is one of the first molecules introduced under IRAC Group 30, which is a new insecticide group with no known cross resistance with other existing products.
Brebes, Indonesia – May 17, 2023 – BASF Indonesia registered a “MURI”- Museum Rekor-Dunia Indonesia (The Indonesia World Records Museum) record for an Angklung Performance with the most number of farmers – 1000. The record was achieved during the event where BASF had celebrated the launch its newest insecticide innovation Cimegra. The location was in Desa Tegalgandu, Kecamatan Wanasari, Brebes, Jawa Tengah.
“The angklung is a traditional Javanese musical instrument that is uniquely Indonesian and recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2010. Made from bamboo, it takes many people to harmonize and know when and how to shake or tap the bamboo frame respectively,” said Ajay Chandola, Head of Agricultural Solutions, BASF Indonesia. “This is in line with BASF’s collaborative spirit where we closely work with Indonesian farmers and support their quest for better yields, and also drive more sustainable agriculture practices, including responsible pesticide use, promote integrated pest management, and produce innovations that support the needs and challenges faced by Indonesian farmers.”
This event is part of a series of BASF Cimegra launch event marathon that formally started in early May 2023, with a Gala Launch involving 500 first BASF Cimegra farmers in Jakarta. This was followed by other events in Nganjuk, Jawa Timur last week, involving over 1000 more farmers.
Held in Brebes, Jawa Tengah, the MURI record of an Angklung Performance with the most number of farmers involved 1000 farmers. This had excited the local community, as they excitedly wanted to be a part of the record breaking attempt in our Pesta Rakyat BASF Cimegra® event “We are very excited with all the activities for the farmers today. We appreciate the good coordination during the event preparation to the execution, and we are glad that BASF chose our urban-village for gathering farmers from various area in Brebes regency to celebrate the launch of BASF Cimegra®.” said Sudarmo, the headman of Tegalgandu, Wanasari, Brebes.
The events that are happening in Indonesia during our BASF Cimegra launch are part of a series of events to celebrate farming and engage farmers.
