BASF appoints Dr. Dschun Song as Managing Director for Korea
- Proven leader having worked across positions in BASF including Research, M&A, Marketing and Business Management for over 17 years

February 27, 2023, Seoul, Korea – Dr. Dschun Song, Vice President, Automotive, Materials and Industrial Solutions in Korea, will take office as Senior Vice President and Managing Director, BASF Company Limited, Korea, effective March 1, 2023. Dr. David Im, the incumbent Representative Director, will retire on February 28.
Dr. Dschun Song, a Korean-German, has been responsible for various roles in BASF across locations including Germany, Brazil and South Korea for over 17 years, since he joined the company as a research scientist in Ludwigshafen, Germany in 2006. During his tenure, he assumed various positions in Research, M&A, Marketing as well as being Staff to the President of EMEA in Europe. Post which, he moved to Brazil to manage BASF’s Petrochemicals business in South America. With his rich expertise and proven leadership, Dr. Song in his most recent role served as Vice President, Automotive, Materials and Industrial Solutions in Korea since 2020, where he supported and drove the business growth.
