BASF Agriculture Solutions launches Basta® – x with new applications on cassava and rubber in Thailand

  • With Basta® – x, BASF provides a non-selective, non-residual herbicide with limited translocation potential
  • Effective for controlling over 80 weed species for Rice, Mango, Cassava, Palm Oil, and Rubber farms.

Chumpon, Thailand, June 23, 2022 –BASF Agricultural Solutions in Thailand will present Basta® – x in new branding with Thai’s Farmer on BASF Technology Day. The new Basta® – x branding also marks the approval for use on two additional crops in Thailand - cassava and rubber.

Being a contact herbicide, Basta® - x only affects the parts of the plant being treated. The active ingredients of BASTA®- x is glufosinate-ammonium and is rapidly decomposed by soil microorganisms, therefore no residue will remain in the soil over time. In addition, BASF prioritizes proper stewardship and crop safety education with farmers and has planned for a targeted 5,000 farmers to be trained by end of 2022   

At BASF Technology Day, BASF also presents other solutions which help fruit and vegetable growers to produce not only more, but better yield.
