Backend Developer
Are you a talented backend developer with a passion for learning and exploring emerging technologies? Join our Global Digitalization team at Care Chemicals Digital for an exciting opportunity! As a backend developer, you'll play a vital role in our complex digitalization journey, developing algorithms and prototypes to support our initiatives. Critical thinking, ideation, and a willingness to learn are valued. This position will report to the Managing Director of BASF Care Chemicals Digital and Global Leader of Digitalization at Care Chemicals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services within a microservices architecture
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs and ensure high performance and reliability
- Collaborate with frontend developers to deliver seamless end-to-end features
- Contribute to system architecture decisions and technical design discussions
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and best practices
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing services

QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 5+ years professional experience in a similar position, building confidence as a software engineer with broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies, preferably in an agile environment
- Professional knowledge in EAI and Microservice architecture
- professional knowledge in Java>=17
- professional knowledge in SpringBoot2.x
- professional knowledge in Spring-modules like Spring-Data,
- Spring-Integration, Spring-Batch, Spring-Security
- professional knowledge in persistence technology (JPA2, Hibernate)
- knowledge in (No-) SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Experience with automated testing (e.g. Junit and Integration tests)
- Experience in event-driven architecture (e.g. ServiceBus, RabbitMQ, Kafka)
- Azure DevOps Experience: knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
