Post-merger integration (PMI)

BASF actively manages its product portfolio through market actions such as acquisitions and divestments. Such actions need to be carefully executed to ensure that the value of the deal is maintained as expected.

For PMI projects, we support our business units in setting up and managing the integration project or actively coaching the responsible integration team.

BASF Management Consulting recently supported the integration of a company for biological crop protection into the respective business unit. This company had approximately 500 employees located across the globe with multiple production units, new technologies and expertise that would create additional value together with the existing BASF portfolio.

We were involved early on in the project to support our client to develop an appropriate approach for integration of the target organization. We defined and managed the project organization and supported the project all through to the implementation phase.

From a consulting perspective, such PMI projects last between four and twelve months depending on the size and complexity of the target organization and offer exciting challenges and growth opportunities as a consultant.
