BASF is evaluating a potential investment in India as part of its continued commitment to serving growing customer demand in the region. The company is in the advanced stages of a feasibility study for the construction of an MDI (methylene diphenyl diisocyanate) production complex and has secured an industrial land parcel in Dahej, Gujarat, for the potential investment through its Indian subsidiary, BASF India Polyurethanes Private Limited.

BASF and UPC Technology Corporation (UPC) signed a strategic Letter of Intent (LoI) on LowPCF products during the BASF & UPC Technology Low Carbon Footprint Strategic Partnership Summit held on September 1, 2026, at UPC's Zhuhai site. The agreement further strengthens the long-standing partnership between the two companies and establishes a framework for collaboration on the use of BASF’s LowPCF products, supporting the plasticizer industry's transition towards a lower-carbon future and UPC's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

September 11,  2026 – With immediate effect, or as contract terms allow, BASF will increase prices for its Lupranate^® MDI (Methylene Diphenyl Diisocyanate) basic products and Lupranate^® TDI (Toluene Diisocyanate) by $250 per metric ton in ASEAN and South Asia countries.
