BASF launches high-performance dispersant production line in Nanjing, China

BASF has officially commissioned its high-performance dispersant production line at the Jiangbei New Material Technology Park, Nanjing, China. This investment enables local production of the most advanced dispersants using Controlled Free Radical Polymerization (CFRP) technology. The overall global capacity increase improves supply reliability and flexibility, along with production from the company’s site in Heerenveen, the Netherlands.

Basotect® Dark EcoBalanced is the first dark version of BASF’s established melamine resin foam Basotect®: It combines its excellent acoustic properties with a homogeneous dark color.

Into the dark: Basotect^® Dark EcoBalanced, the world’s first dark melamine resin foam for stylish sound absorption

BASF is expanding its Basotect^® portfolio with Basotect^® Dark EcoBalanced, the first dark version of its established melamine resin foam. The industry-first combines the excellent acoustic and safety properties of Basotect^® B EcoBalanced with a homogeneous dark color - enabling elegant and visually striking acoustic concepts that complement contemporary color trends. Designed for sound absorption applications in building and construction (B&C), Basotect^® Dark EcoBalanced enables customers to differentiate their sound absorption products by combining well-being and safety with design freedom and a reduced CO₂ footprint. The dark melamine resin foam is part of the Basotect^® EcoBalanced product family featuring an increased use of renewable feedstock via biomass balance approach and a lower Product Carbon Footprint (PCF).

Hyundai Transys and BASF unveil modular concept seat using Elastollan® TPU with SCF injection foaming technology

Seoul, Korea, November 5, 2025 – Hyundai Transys and BASF have co-developed a modular concept seat for purpose-built vehicles (PBV), showcasing how the advanced material solution of Elastollan^® thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) processed with Supercritical Fluid (SCF) injection foaming technology, can support customizable and sustainable seating solutions for automotive interiors. The modular concept seat features a headrest and armrest made with the advanced material solution for the first time.
