Hyundai Transys and BASF unveil modular concept seat using Elastollan® TPU with SCF injection foaming technology

Seoul, Korea, November 5, 2025 – Hyundai Transys and BASF have co-developed a modular concept seat for purpose-built vehicles (PBV), showcasing how the advanced material solution of Elastollan® thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) processed with Supercritical Fluid (SCF) injection foaming technology, can support customizable and sustainable seating solutions for automotive interiors. The modular concept seat features a headrest and armrest made with the advanced material solution for the first time.

BASF constructs new electronic grade ammonium hydroxide plant in Ludwigshafen

Ludwigshafen, Germany – October 30, 2025BASF today announces the construction of a state-of-the-art Electronic Grade Ammonium Hydroxide (NH4OH EG) plant in Ludwigshafen, Germany, in support of wafer cleaning, etching and other precision processes in semiconductor manufacturing. This critical ultra-pure chemical will support the growth and expansion of semiconductor companies in Europe, ensuring a robust local supply chain for the production of advanced chips.

Suzuki and BASF explore the use of sustainable materials in the next-generation MOQBA2

Tokyo, Japan – October 29, 2025 – Suzuki and BASF jointly explore material solutions for Suzuki’s next-generation quadruped mobility MOQBA2 (Modular Quad-based architecture), a mobility vehicle which can ascend and descend steps with four legs. As part of the initiative, at the Japan Mobility Show 2025, various sustainable and high-performance material solutions, including thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and engineering plastics such as polyamide (PA), will be proposed for intended use in various applications of the Suzuki MOQBA2.

BASF and ANDRITZ sign license agreement for OASE® technology

Ludwigshafen, Germany, October 23, 2025 – BASF SE (BASF) and ANDRITZ Group have signed a license agreement for the use of BASF’s proprietary gas treatment technology, OASE® blue, in a carbon capture project planned to be implemented in the city of Aarhus, Denmark. The project aims to capture approximately 435,000[1] tons of CO2 annually from the flue gases of a waste-to-energy plant for sequestration; the city of Aarhus has set itself the goal of becoming CO2-neutral by 2030. ANDRITZ, the selected supplier for the carbon capture plant, is currently conducting pre-engineering. The project’s implementation is contingent upon the customer receiving funding from the Danish CCS fund.
