BASF India Limited completes divestiture of stilbene-based Optical Brightening Agents business to Archroma India Pvt Ltd.
Mumbai, India – December 06, 2019 – BASF India Limited has closed the previously announced transaction to divest its stilbene-based Optical Brightening Agents (OBA) business for paper and powder detergents to Archroma India Private Limited effective December 06, 2019. Archroma India is a member of the Archroma Group, a global leader in color and specialty chemicals. The transaction includes the stilbene-based OBA product portfolio of BASF’s Performance Chemicals and Care Chemicals division and the manufacturing unit at Ankleshwar, India.
The specialty optical brightener technology Tinopal® CBS, which BASF Suisse SA manufactures at its production site in Monthey, Switzerland, will remain core to BASF’s Home Care and Industrial & Institutional Cleaning portfolio and is not in the scope of the divestiture.
Archroma is a portfolio company of SK Capital Partners, a private investment firm with focus on the specialty materials, chemicals and healthcare sectors.
