BASF Catalysts receives Presidential Award for Quality from Subaru


ISELIN, NJ, July 2, 2007 – BASF Catalysts is one of only three automotive suppliers in the United States to receive the 2006 Presidential Award for quality from Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. (SIA). SIA is the home of North American Subaru production.

This marks the fifth consecutive year that BASF has received a Subaru quality award for supplying the automaker with emissions control catalysts. To qualify for the Presidential Award, suppliers must have at least a 99.5% quality rating and 99% on-time delivery rating.

Keith Allison, BASF Catalysts Account Manager for Subaru, congratulated his BASF colleagues in Huntsville, Alabama, where catalysts for SIA are produced. He said, “This was truly a team effort. It involved all employees at the site – from Technology Transfer to Customer Service.”

BASF also supplies catalysts to Subaru plants in Japan through its joint venture with N.E. Chemcat Corporation.
