Baxxodur™ - When Curing Makes the Difference

The portfolio of epoxy resin hardeners featured will include polyetheramines, aliphatic and cycloaliphatic amines. Imidazoles as accelerators and phosphines as additives complete the range on offer. Major applications of these intermediates are fiber composites, construction chemicals and adhesives. Backward integration that includes raw materials ensures a highly stable supply for customers.

Focus on Innovation

Innovation is a prominent characteristic of Baxxodur™ products. Dr. Gregor Daun of BASF’s Intermediates Division commented, “We are capable of developing new chemicals from the laboratory through the pilot phase to large-scale production.” Currently, BASF is developing new molecules for curing epoxy resins. Based on its extensive technological expertise and know-how dating back many years, the company aims to expand the range of its new hardeners and accelerators to meet the increasing demands of customers in the epoxy industry. Patent and environmental considerations are factored into BASF’s service package.

Looking ahead, Dr. Michael Henningsen of BASF’s Intermediates Division said, “Given the dynamic developments of the epoxy market, our plan is to expand our portfolio even further through intensive research work on all product lines so we will be ready to fulfil the future requirements of our customers to the best of our ability.”
