Shanghai General Motors awards BASF Coatings for environmental efforts

• Nearly 10 years of proven partnership to achieve the common goal

Münster/Shanghai. Shanghai General Motors has awarded BASF Shanghai Coatings Co., Ltd. with the Green Supply Chain Award for its long established partnership in environmentally-friendly technology, as well as for helping Shanghai General Motors become the first manufacturer in the Chinese automotive industry to spray waterborne basecoats in assembly production.

The award also recognizes the fact that BASF has met Shanghai General Motors’ strict requirements in the areas of energy consumption and waste management, as well as environment compliance at its production sites.

The partnership between the two companies started in 1998. BASF was awarded Shanghai General Motors’ Excellent Supplier Award for four consecutive years from 2002-2005.
