Elements of nature and the Orient for your living room

Oldenburg / Münster. RELIUS, BASF Coatings AG’s paint brand, has just presented the latest color trends for living areas. The 2008 stars for living room décor are natural, pastel and earth tones with an Asian touch, as well as airy blues and grays.

RELIUS is using bright and friendly greens, yellows and oranges, as well as red and brown nuances, for its “Organic,” “Colonial” and “Oriental” theme worlds. The “Atmosphere” color trend is dominated by fresh blues. “We are using our current trend colors to create sensations that bring nature indoors so you can turn your own home into a wellness oasis,” explained Thomas Groeger, Product Manager at the RELIUS Mix Competence Center. “White isn't the only way to do this. Our color trends show how easy it is to create completely new atmospheres with light color accents,” Groeger continued. The color trends were developed in cooperation with a color designer.

Organic
Bringing nature indoors: The soft “Organic” world includes friendly whites, delicate grays and greens and stronger, graduated greens and a matching nut tree wood tone.

Colonial
The “Colonial” color trend is characterized by pastel tones with variations of bright yellows and oranges. The Colonial color world is rounded out by dark accents in brown and walnut.

Oriental
Nuances in red and brown, natural terra cotta tones and mahogany add oriental flair to your home.

Atmosphere
“Atmosphere” colors feature all kinds of airy, fresh blues and grays.
