Employee representatives appoint members to BASF SE Supervisory Board.

Ludwigshafen, Germany – March 19, 2009 – In its regular meeting on March 18 in Ludwigshafen, the BASF Europa Betriebsrat (European works council) appointed employee representatives to the Supervisory Board of BASF SE. They are:

  • Robert Oswald, BASF SE
  • Wolfgang Daniel, BASF SE
  • Ralf Bastian, BASF SE
  • Denise Schellemans, BASF Antwerpen N. V.
  • Michael Vassiliadis, member of the Central Board of Executive Directors of the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industries Union, Hanover
  • Ralf Sikorski, Regional manager of the Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland branch of the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industries Union, Mainz

The appointments of these representatives begin following the Annual Meeting of BASF SE on April 30, 2009 and are valid until the Annual Meeting 2014. The appointments are based on the Agreement Concerning the Involvement on Employees in BASF SE (Employee Participation Agreement) signed in relation to the transformation of BASF Aktiengesellschaft into a European Company (Societas Europaea, SE). According to this agreement, the BASF Europa Betriebsrat appoints employee representatives to the Supervisory Board on the basis of proposals from the German Group works council and the Belgian works council.
