Glysantin from BASF to be main sponsor of the Vogel Business Media award “auto und AUSBILDUNG – Beste Berufsschule 2009“

Würzburg/Ludwigshafen, Germany – May 27, 2009 – Good training is the key to a successful career. This is why the Vogel Business Media group gives an award to the best vocational school for trainees in the automotive business. The main sponsor of the award, which is being presented this year for the first time, is the BASF product Glysantin®, Europe’s best-selling engine coolant.

Vocational school classes for automotive mechatronics engineers, automotive sales representatives and vehicle body maintenance technicians from throughout Germany can still enter the competition for the “auto und AUSBILDUNG" – beste Berufsschule 2009” prize until June 9th, 2009. The prize will be awarded at the “auto und AUSBILDUNG” congress in Würzburg, Germany, on October 2nd. For further information: http://www.kfz-betrieb.vogel.de/auto_und_ausbildung

Vogel Business Media, which publishes the trade magazines “autoFACHMANNand autoKAUFMANN, is committed to supporting vocational schools that are exemplary in the use of both traditional methods of instruction, such as teacher-centered learning, group work and project work, and new forms of knowledge transfer such as e-learning. “The combination of these types of learning demands effectiveness and flexibility on the part of the trainees and increases their expertise and social skills,” explains Werner Degen, editor-in-chief of autoFACHMANN and autoKAUFMANN.

BASF, which is acting as sponsor with Glysantin®, the well-known engine coolant brand in the automotive trade, also makes modern, high-quality vocational training a priority in its corporate philosophy. “The daily routine of the automotive trade in the fields of electronics, mechanics and – not to be underestimated – automotive chemicals such as engine coolants is becoming more and more complex, so that, in addition to employee training in the workshops, optimal preparation of trainees in vocational schools is indispensable,” says Mike Freche, brand manager for Glysantin® at BASF. “So here too we want to assume our social responsibility and distinguish those who break new ground in knowledge transfer”. Excellent training is the key to subsequent professional success.

The award winners will be decided by a jury composed of representatives from industry, including BASF, and from federal agencies for vocational training as well as technical editors. The winning vocational school will receive 1,500 euros and a sculpture; the second and third prizes are valued at 1000 and 500 euros respectively.
