Sparkling dishes with BASF

Dried-on or baked-on food is a tough challenge for any dishwasher. To ensure sparkling clean dishes, cutlery and glasses for home and industrial use, BASF supports its customers from the detergent & cleaner industry with Plurafac® and Pluronic® surfactants, Sokalan® polymers and Trilon® chelating agents. BASF supplies active substances and basic formula suggestions appropriate for designing state-of-the-art dishwashing agents to meet customers’ growing demands for more environment-friendly, high-efficiency products.

Consumer cleaning solutions

BASF offers the following products to meet rising demand for high-performance phosphate-reduced and phosphate-free dishwashing agents: Trilon® M, Emulan® AT 9 and Sokalan® CP 50 Granules. The new basic formulas are significantly improved in terms of their rinsing performance.

Industrial & Institutional Cleaning solutions

Heavy-duty industrial automated dishwashing, being very different from dishwashing at home, demands high-speed, effective and efficient cleaning and rinsing within minutes, at high temperatures and using more powerful detergents. A consistently good outcome is essential for reliable compliance with food and work safety requirements and to meet health standards. BASF’s products are tried and tested solutions for heavy-duty industrial needs.

Newly developed polymer thickeners from BASF

The first impression when using hair gels, body creams, or sunscreen lotions plays a decisive role in the overall customer experience. The product’s ease of use and a pleasant consistency are important factors that end users value. Controlling the viscosity of a cosmetic product is therefore a key concern during product development. This is where BASF’s newly developed synthetic thickeners can help.

Luvigel STAR: a polymeric thickener for skin care products

Luvigel® STAR is a new polyurethane-based rheology modifier with an excellent thickening performance even under challenging conditions. Formulations with Luvigel STAR distinguish themselves through a particularly elegant and luxurious skin feel. Luvigel STAR has outstanding thickening efficiency even at high salt concentrations. Luvigel STAR is also suitable for use in a wide pH range. The thickener does not react with cationic, anionic or zwitterionic surfactants and emulsifiers and does not require neutralization. A broad range of viscosities can be achieved using Luvigel STAR, thereby allowing formulations from light lotions to thick and rich creams to be easily prepared. Finally, Luvigel STAR simplifies the production of cosmetic formulations. Pre-swelling is not required and its liquid form allows it to be added at any stage of the production process.

Luvigel Advanced: a polymeric thickener for hairstyling products

Luvigel® Advanced is a new multifunctional cationic thickener exhibiting thickening, conditioning and enhanced setting properties. Combined with other styling polymers, it gives even at high humidity long-lasting hold. Gels containing Luvigel Advanced are easy to apply, offer the ability to re-style the hair, and give a pleasant sensory feel to the hair. Because of its cationic nature, the product provides conditioning eliminating the need for additional conditioning polymers. The hair remains easy to comb – no matter if wet, dry or curled. The boosting effect of Luvigel Advanced enables less styling polymers to be used without negatively affecting the holding performance.

Chione: a synthetic mica-based effect pigment for color cosmetics and personal care products

Chione™ is an effect pigment based on synthetic mica. It adds an elegant shimmer and luminous pearlescent sheen to an array of decorative cosmetic products for lips and eyes, as well as skin care products. Chione leaves the skin feeling soft and silky.
