BASF at Turkeybuild 2013:

  • Model house with product samples first shown in Turkey
  • Visitors to experience admixtures, insulation materials and high-performance floorings

Istanbul, Turkey – April 24, 2013 – BASF will attend the Yapi Fuarı – Turkeybuild 2013, which will be carried out at Tüyap Fair and Congress Center in Istanbul on April 24-28, 2013. BASF will be presenting its numerous solutions, including products to raise the energy efficiency of buildings as well as materials to prolong their lifespan and thus reduce maintenance efforts.

One of the biggest international construction gathering in Turkey, YAPI Fuarı – Turkeybuild, brings together more than 1,000 companies with more than 100,000 visitors. At the 36th version of the fair, BASF will be represented by its Construction Chemicals and Performance Materials divisions at Hall 10, stand 211.

Improving the energy footprint of buildings

One of BASF’s aim is to help develop solutions for more energy-efficient buildings. The construction and housing area accounts for approximately 40 percent of global energy consumption and 30 percent of global CO2 emissions. This impact can be reduced significantly. The range of solutions BASF presents at Turkeybuild includes Admixtures, External insulation, Perimeter insulation, and Insulating systems for facades, roofs and solar collectors.

The unique technology of X-Seed® with its hardening accelerator allows the concrete industry to achieve better process economy, higher quality and increased energy efficiency in order to save time and money and reduce CO2 emissions.

To add value to the energy efficiency of buildings, the Senerflex® and Multitherm® range of products create an exterior appearance that meets the architects’ aesthetic objectives while providing high insulation performance.

Neopor®, an advanced version based on the classic polystyrene insulation material Styropor®, contains special graphite particles that reflect thermal radiation like a mirror and reduce heat loss in the home. The technology is shown in use in an external thermal insulation compound system. Basotect®, an open-cell specialty foam made from melamine resin, is a heat-resistant thermal insulator used for applications such as insulating solar collectors.

More solutions that contribute to energy efficiency include polyurethane applications. BASF’s Turkey Build exhibits include tried and tested Elastopor® and Elastopir® sandwich elements for roofs and facades as well as a spray foam sample. With features including ultra-low thermal conductivity (grade 024), these materials are also used for rigid polyurethane foam insulation systems for window frames and window blinds.

BASF’s 1m x 1m x 1m model house, which has been enhanced by the addition of various BASF products and solutions, will be displayed for the first time in Turkey. Visitors will have the chance to see several solutions for different types of buildings.

Minimizing maintenance and repair effort

BASF materials also help to protect structures from weathering and thus reduce maintenance and repair work. BASF’s Ucrete®  floor has earned a reputation as “The floor that lasts”  with its rapid installation, long-term toughness and durability in extreme industrial environments.

To increase the strength and performance of existing structural members in buildings the MBrace® family of performance polymers once installed will deliver externally bonded reinforcement with outstanding long-term physical and mechanical properties.

The comprehensive range of Masterseal® solutions for industrial coatings is designed specifically to preserve, repair and restore the structures and infrastructure of industrial facilities where damage has been caused by physical, chemical or biological means in the operation of the facility.

Better acoustics for added comfort

Visitors interested in enhancing comfort levels in residential, commercial and industrial buildings are advised to try out the acoustics box on the BASF stand. Again, Basotect comes into play. The versatile specialty foam with its extensive range of properties absorbs sound for measurably improved acoustics.
