HPCI 2013: BASF to showcase innovative solutions for the latest personal care and home care trends

Istanbul, Turkey – September 16, 2013 –From September 18 to 19, BASF will showcase innovative ingredients and concepts at the 4th HPCI Middle East and Eurasia Exhibition and Congress in Istanbul at booth 310. The congress is the largest event in the region exclusively focused on ingredients and services for the cosmetic and household industry.Marketing experts from BASF will be taking part in technical seminars addressing the latest concepts and trends within the industry. The consumer-inspired “Cosmetics for Real Life” concept based on the Care CreationsTM brand roll-out towards the personal care market will be presented. For the home care market an innovative “3D concept for fabric softeners” will be showcased by BASF during the exhibition.

Enabling Choices for home care and I&I applications

One of the major trends in the home care and industrial and institutional (I&I) cleaning markets is the growing demand for detergents and cleaners that are convenient and safe to use, that are high performing and that contribute to sustainable development. By providing one of the most comprehensive product portfolios for the home care and I&I markets BASF enables customers to choose and combine the right ingredients to formulate products that meet these demands.

One of these solutions presented at HPCI is Lutropur® M. This highly pure and odorless methanesulfonic acid combines outstanding cleaning performance with an excellent ecotoxic profile and good material compatibility. It is fast-acting, effective and can safely be used on a broad range of surfaces.

For convenient laundry applications BASF will showcase the innovative “3D concept for fabric softeners”. It appeals to three of the five senses  – touch, sight and smell – in response to the growing demand for softeners that deliver more than just softness. Long-lasting fragrance is becoming more and more important, as are esthetic aspects such as the color and texture of the final product. BASF will present solutions for formulating fabric softeners to meet these demands. These include biodegradable cationic surfactants (esterquats) as well as additional ingredients such as biocides, optical brighteners, rheology modifiers, dye transfer inhibitors, and stabilizers.

Personal care solutions for consumers’ daily needs

BASF will display its latest innovations from its hair care portfolio including Luviset®One, an all-in-one solution for hair styling gels, creams and waxes which delivers strong styling performance, long-lasting curl retention and provides a smooth, crystal-clear gel base.

The new Timica® Terra Colors range will be showcasedresponding to the latest effect pigments trends: natural mica coated with iron oxide and titanium dioxide with high color saturation from the skin-tone spectrum that are ideal for use in mineral make-up.

BASF will also present numerous innovative ingredients and concepts including body cleansing products protecting the skin, increased performance UV filters, tailor-made anti-ageing products, as well as an odor preventing ingredient used in deodorants.
