Durasorb® LNG MAX technology implemented at Cheniere’s Corpus Christi LNG facility

BASF announced today that Cheniere Energy, Inc. has commissioned Durasorb® LNG MAX technology at its Corpus Christi LNG facility in Texas, USA (the “CCL Facility”).  Durasorb installation at the CCL Facility began in 2025 and is now in place on multiple mid-scale and large-scale liquefaction trains. Cheniere plans to complete installation and commissioning of Durasorb across the remaining CCL Facility liquefaction trains by the end of 2027.
In 1931 BASF filed the patent for the manufacturing of Polyisobutene, which was sold under the product name Oppanol. The picture shows the cooling unit of the Oppanol plant at Ludwigshafen site in 1952.
